How do you choose an AEO builder in Dubai?
AnswerDubai has no shortage of agencies selling AEO. The hard part is telling which of them can show their working, because most of the field's confident claims trace back to sources that do not say what they are quoted as saying.
Four questions will separate them, and you can ask all four on a first call.
Ask what Google actually requires. Google's own guidance on AI features says "There are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, nor other special optimizations necessary", and goes on to say "You don't need to create new machine readable files, AI text files, or markup to appear in these features. There's also no special schema.org structured data that you need to add." Anyone selling you AI-specific markup should be able to explain that sentence. The full quote and what it leaves open.
Ask which crawler they mean. OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity each run three, and they are separate tokens in robots.txt: one for training, one for the search index, one for live fetches when a person asks. Only the middle one decides whether you can appear in an answer at all. A vendor who treats them as one group will write you a robots.txt that blocks the one that matters. Ask for the rendering evidence. "AI crawlers cannot execute JavaScript" is the most repeated line in the field. It traces to a single study, from Vercel and MERJ, with no published replication, and not one of the four major vendors documents rendering behaviour either way. A vendor who states it as settled fact has not read the source. Where the claim comes from.
Ask them to fetch your page as a bot, in front of you. One command, thirty seconds, and it settles what a crawler actually receives from your site. Everything else is inference. If they cannot do it live, they are guessing about your pages the same way they are guessing about the crawlers.
Those four questions are the whole audit in miniature. They also explain why the answer to "who is best" is unstable: the field is young, nobody publishes ranking factors for AI answers, and the roundups you will find are mostly written by the agencies appearing in them.
